Difficult, talented, sometimes stroppy, bigger than his boots, beyond his years, mischievous, physically awesome, hard to coach, and with a big, broad grin that disarmed many a cross coach. These are descriptions of the young Alan Quinlan as he ascended the ranks of underage rugby in Clanwilliam FC.
